A Tale That Isn’t So Invisible

Book: The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue

Author: V.E. Schwab

Do you think a life has any value if one doesn’t leave some mark upon the world?

The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue ~ V.E. Schwab

Adeline LaRue doesn’t want to marry and make a deal with the darkness.  She gets to experience life, but in return no can remember her and she is unable to make a physical mark upon the world.  300 years later, Addie finds a young man that can remember her.

This tale from V.E. Swab has you contemplating how you make your mark upon the world and how human connection is so important!  Addie’s story started off pulling me in and wondering how Addie was going to deal with her new life, but then slowed down as we dig into Addie’s history.  The story started to pick-up again once Addie is remembered.  I was curious how the tale would end. I couldn’t see how the story was going to unfold.  V.E. Swab did a wonderful job unfurling pieces of information about Addie, Luc, and Henry.

There was talk of all the interesting times and places that Addie had been, but very few were ever revealed in the glimpses into the past.  The connection between Luc and Addie was so intriguing and I kept looking forward to their scenes together.  There were a few little instances, where I was a bit confused about how something happened with Addie and how it worked with her curse, but nothing that was too glaring.  Overall, I enjoyed this tale and would give The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue four out five stars!
